IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The ‘HEARTLINK RALLY’ is now cancelled permanently owing to various reasons.

As this was the major fundraiser for the charity this will create a major shortfall in funds raised, if you would like to help by making a donation then please click on this link to donate.

Welcome to Terry Davies’ web site about the Austin K Series of light commercial vehicles. These were built at the Austin Motor Co. factory at Longbridge, nr Birmingham, UK. between the 1930’s and the 1950’s. The idea of building this web site came about because I wanted to show off my K4 truck, but the response has been terrific, and with photo’s taken both by myself and others, I have managed to expand the site nicely. Please keep sending me photo’s and information that I can add to the site.  Mail to aliciadavies(at)supanet.com  There’s more photo’s and information on pages to which I’ve added links below, so you can enjoy yourself browsing through them.

The photo below is from the Cromford Rally in 2006 and shows me going round the parade ring.

This picture was taken in July 2007 on the seafront at Teignmouth (the first stop on the Devon Run).

On our way home from the 2007 Devon Run we stopped for breakfast at Annie’s Café on the A303 in Devon. Makes a nice change to see a line up like this in a lay-by these days!  There’s one Austin, one Bedford TK and two Ford Thames Traders.

This photo was taken in July 2005 at the Austin Centenary Event at Longbridge opposite the factory where it was built. My truck is still fitted with the original 3.5 ltr straight 6cyl. OHV petrol engine. From August of 1948 the 4.0ltr engine replaced the 3.5ltr version. My truck is a K4 series 1, 5ton dropside first registered in March 1948 and has only had three owners from new. The next photo was taken two weeks later at the  Heartlink Rally in Wymeswold  with the canvas back fitted and adorned with flowers from the Heartlink stall.

This photo was taken by John Warden at the GCR Easter Gala in 2004. The location was Quorn Station nr Loughborough, UK and shows a ‘Black 5’ Stanier Loco, an Austin 7 newspaper delivery van (complete with authentic wares) and my own Austin K4.
